Dear Galway Families,

I have four important items to share with you today.  

1.  Our Volleyball team will compete in the New York State Championship this weekend, November 20th and 21st, at the Cool Insuring Arena, 1 Civic Center Plaza, Glens Falls. Pool play will begin at 3:00 on Saturday.  The finals are Sunday.  The arena seats almost 5,000 - let's try to fill it up with spirited Galway fans!  Tickets can be purchased here: https://gofan.co/app/school/NYSPHSAA.

2.  Our district is now doing COVID diagnostic testing.  If your child develops COVID symptoms during the school day and are going home sick, our nurses can perform the diagnostic screening before sending your child home.  Results are back within 24-48 hours, and if negative, the student will be immediately allowed to return to school.  The testing is at no cost to our families. However, students need to be registered on the Clarifi COVID-19 Web App before the Health Office can perform this test. Please click here for directions. Parents will also need to give consent prior to testing by completing the "COVID-19 Testing Consent" form on Family ID. 

3.  After reviewing over 12 months of data which concluded that our students are not coming to school with a fever, our district is no longer performing student temperature checks upon entry to school.  

4.  Our Emergency Go Home Drill will be held on November 23rd.  Students will be released 15 minutes early on that day.
